Treasurer's Report - David Kent provided details of the
month's financial activity, including the $200 donation to the Miami
University Handball Club to help defray expenses for their trip to
the National Collegiate tournament. As of the latest bank statement,
the checking account balance is $ 8,601.82.
George Coleman Memorial
- No additional memorials have been received, and the fund stands
at $230. George Lehocky will investigate the cost to donate a tree
with plaque at the 3-wall courts, and find out the details of presenting
George's US flag to Veteran's Park for use on its flag pole. Ralph
Weil is donating a bench, also with a plaque.
Membership Report
- Membership has increased from 104 to 120 as of the meeting date,
equaling last year's membership. Jim Krailler provided George with
a list who have yet to join. All Board Members were strongly encouraged

Reds Game
- George Lehocky purchased a block of 35 tickets for the Reds versus
the New York Yankees on Wednesday, June 4th, at 7:10 pm. Tickets have
not arrived, but George is taking reservations for those wishing to
attend. At $20 each, GCHA will break even on ticket sales.
Legends
Tournament - Topic deferred. (But not dropped.)
Memorial
Doubles Tournament - Since there is not enough time to stage
this tournament in Spring, the topic was deferred for a future meeting.
Winter
Doubles League, Fitness @ Waycross - Play continues on Friday
evenings, and will wrap up around the end of March.
3-Wall
Courts, Maintenance Update - Bob Burkitt suggested that a
workday be scheduled for an early-spring Saturday for general cleaning.
Mike Reilly expressed concern about some of the spalling on the concrete
and suggested making contact with experts on how to address this particular
problem.
Pete Mather
Tournament and Spring Swing Dance - Both events are scheduled
for Saturday, March 15th. Bob Lohmueller has agreed to handicap teams
for the doubles tournament, held at the Central Parkway YMCA, with
matches starting at 9:00 am. The Spring Swing Dance will be
held at the Montgomery Business Club beginning at 7:30 pm.
Carl Fisher
attended this portion of the Board meeting and explained that the
dance is not sponsored by Montgomery Business Association, as was
noted in the Board minutes from both January and February. Some Board
members voiced concern about this arrangement, in direct opposition
to their understanding that GCHA has no financial responsibilities
for this event. Board
members are asked to support the dance and promote it to other GCHA
members.
GCHA donor
program, Hoxworth Blood Center - Members have responded to
this program and have been contributing (Jack Dean, Ralph Weil,Charlie
Rolfes, etc.) while some have found that they're not eligible.
The board declared the program a great success, and agreed to provide
handballs as prizes for the drawing of names of those who contribute
during the initial period, in honor of George Coleman.
Miami University
Handball Club - As reported above, a GCHA donation was forwarded
to the team. None of the board members present has heard any results
from the national collegiate tournament.

Meeting - The date of April's meeting was pushed back one week,
in consideration of the start of daylight savings time and the official
beginning of the 3-wall season. (Like it ever ends -- but this winter
has been particularly cruel to 3-wallers.) The meeting will be held
at Abby's, after 3-wall play.
In case of inclement weather, games will be moved to the Central Parkway
YMCA, downtown, with the
meeting to follow at Washington Platform.
