3-Wall
Court Shelter -
The general feeling is that Green Township is more interested in developing
other parks, and that adding to Veterans' Park is not high on the
Green Township priority list. There is continued talk about the township
building a facility near their maintenance garage area which will
house bathrooms and showers for their workers. The township has offered
sharing that facility with the players if the project is completed.
For the time being, this item will be dropped from the Board agenda.
Ohio Hall
of Fame - No further progress was reported. As a result,
Mike Reilly volunteered to contact John Love and attempt to establish
a timeline for Cincinnati-area nominations. This particular topic
sparked a lively discussion regarding the merits of "honoring
the old guys" versus other support activities geared toward younger
players.
Reds Game
- (repeated) George Lehocky has acquired tickets for the Reds versus
the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday, July 27th. Right field bleacher
tickets will cost $15 and the event will be publicized on the website
and in the ShortLine.
Summer
3-wall league - Teams were paired at the May Board Meeting,
with play to begin on Wednesday, May 12th.
Hoxworth Blood
Drive - Bob Burkitt suggested that the Hoxworth logo be included
on the Caples shirts. Jim Krailler will include the logo, presuming
it can fit in with the overall design of the shirt.
Bruce Beimesch
Memorial - The Board voted unanimously to have the GCHA donate
$100 to sponsor a hole at this benefit golf outing, sponsored by the
the St. Vincent dePaul Community Pharmacy. Information has been posted
on the website and in the Spring ShortLine for members to participate.
Skip Dixon, Grant Kirby, Don Schilling and George Morano will be representing
the GCHA.
Irish Handball Tour, Ireland Deux Trip - Irene
Trunick continues to work on the specific dates, itinerary and prices
for the Ireland trip.
