Income / Expenditures / Current balance - Current balance of the GCHA checking account is $10,647.69. A sizeable purchase of merchandise (gloves, balls and lensless eyeguards) to prepare for the upcoming Caples 3-Wall tournament accounted for most of the expenses. Income resulted from league fees, memberships and merchandise sales.

Membership Report - Jim Krailler reported that the current membership roster has risen to 126 members, tying last year's roster. It should also be noted that Denis Hogan signed up for two years at the same time, becoming the first paid member for 2005.

Irish Handball Tour - Flyers were distributed to Board members, detailing the specific dates, itinerary and prices for the Ireland trip. Jim Krailler reports that Vern Roberts has included a story on the upcoming trip to be featured in the next USHA Handball Magazine. George Lehocky also suggested that we request either a web link or a page on the USHA's website to promote the trip. Jim Krailler will follow up with Vern on that request. David Kent will contact all those who were part of the 2002 trip. Flyers will also be distributed in the upcoming ShortLine and/or via a special mailing.

Ohio Hall of Fame - Mike Reilly will contact John Love and attempt to establish a timeline for Cincinnati-area nominations.

Reds Game - (repeated) George Lehocky has acquired tickets for the Reds versus the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday, July 27th. Right field bleacher tickets will cost $15 and the event will be publicized on the website and in the ShortLine.

Summer 3-wall league - The league continues, with regular matches scheduled to wrap up before the end of the month. Playoffs for the top four teams in each division will follow in July.

Hoxworth Blood Drive - Jim Krailler reports that the Hoxworth logo was not included on the Caples shirts, as it did not fit into the overall design of the shirt. Bob Burkitt whined.

Bruce Beimesch Memorial Golf Outing - Mary Beth Beimesch forwarded a thank you note, along with a picture of the hole sponsorship sign and the four golfers who represented GCHA at the outing: Skip Dixon, Grant Kirby, Don Schilling and George Morano. Copies were featured recently on the GCHA website.

First Aid Kit - George Lehocky presented a miniature first-aid kit (1 bandaid, 2 aspirin and 6 condoms) to Bob Burkitt, who accepted on behalf of the GCHA. Subsequently, Bob reported that he had already purchased a "more substantial" first aid kit, which is stored in the closet at the 3-wall courts during the summer and will be brought to other tournaments and events throughout the year.

Bob Caples Memorial 3-Wall Tournament - Shirts have been purchased and are in the process of being printed. Bob Hiance will bring hamburgers and sausages to grill. ("But no hot dogs?" whined Jack "Hot Dog" Dean.) Other food and drinks will be handled by Jim Wohl. Jim Krailler has reserved the tent, to be assembled Friday evening prior to the tournament. Board members were asked to be available to help out with referees, registration and tournament control. George Lehocky volunteered to handle the merchandise table.

Toledo "Under the Lights" Tournament - Toledo is hosting a 3-wall tournament on Friday, June 25 and Saturday, June 26 at the Lucas County Recreation Center in Maumee, site of the USHA National 4-Wall tournament. Matches start at 7:00 pm on Friday night and continue through Saturday. Information and a link have been posted on the website.

Tournaments - Information, entry forms and/or links will be added to the website calendar when appropriate. Mario Dolciato has also forwarded tentative dates for 4-wall tournaments to be held in 2004 and 2005.

Queen City Shootout - Dates for the Queen City Shootout were set for December 3rd, 4th and 5th. (First weekend in November conflicts with dates for the Ireland trip.) Location for the tournament was discussed at length by all members of the Board. In order to reach concensus, George Lehocky and Jack Dean will approach both Paul Baker and Don Parker to determine that both are interested in hosting the tournament, that the GCHA choice of dates is available on their club schedules and to request a preliminary estimate of the hosting costs.
