presented the financial report. Current balance of the GCHA checking
account is $ 10,122.18. Outstanding bills include balls
and gloves for the Queen City Shootout and annual renewal of the web-hosting
fee to Cincy Web Hosting.
Membership Report - Jim Krailler reports
that the 2005 roster currently lists 43 members. A mailing
will be sent to non-renewed members, including a self-addressed, stamped
envelope, after the Queen City Shootout. |

Ohio Handball Hall of Fame - In response to proposed
guidelines from the Cincinnati-area committee, Will Straw suggested
that a statewide perspective is required. Will volunteered to find
the original set of pre-established criteria. This will be presented
to all Ohio area committees.
Hamilton Handball Re-union - Sam Minielli
hosted another re-union of Hamilton and Cincinnati handball players
at his Tori's Station banquet hall on Friday, November 12th.
Tina's
Day-After Thanksgiving Party - This annual event was
held November 26th at Tina's, corner of 4th Street and Central Avenue
in downtown Cincinnati.
3-Wall Maintenance - Mike Reilly
was unsuccessful in contacting Fred Schlimm to attempt to set up an
avenue of regular communication with the Green Township Park Maintenance
staff.
Texas Hold 'em Night - In light
of the current number of activities, the Board decided to put this
item on hold until a future date.
Winter
ShortLine - Articles for the Winter edition of the
ShortLine are due to Jim Krailler by December 15th.

Queen City Shootout
- The Queen City
Shootout is scheduled for December 3rd, 4th and 5th at Paul
Baker's Athletic Club @ Waycross. Greg Fite is tournament director,
with George Lehocky serving as primary support. George Lehocky reports
that sponsorship is provided by Power3 Fitness Coaching, Charles Brown
CLU and Company, Madeira Chiropractic and Rosselot Financial Group.
Contacts have been made with Toledo and Indianapolis to promote participation.
Seventy-five shirts have been ordered -- white t-shirts with logo
on the back, sponsors on the front. Trophies will be long-sleeved
turtle-neck shirts. Board members met on Tuesday, November 23rd at
Waycross to call players. The preliminary tournament draw was completed
on November 30th. It was noted that all of the area Collegiate teams
- UC, Miami and UK - will be represented in the tournament.
USHA National Masters Singles - The dates for this
tournament are Thursday, April 7th through Sunday, April 10th. The
banquet will be held Saturday evening at Sam Minielli's banquet hall,
Tori's Station in Fairfield. Committee work continues with particular
aspects related to the tournament, including finance, food, hospitality
and sponsorship. The plan is to have sponsorship finalized by December,
and feature a multi-tiered approach with appropriate perks. (Name
on courts, name on shirts, names in entry form, etc.) The entry form
has been forwarded to the USHA for publication in upcoming editions
of Handball magazine.

Board Member Gift - At the Annual Fall Meeting,
GCHA members approved a gift of $50 for each of the Board members
who have served the past three years. At the December meeting, Bob
Burkitt chose to donate his $50 to the Saint Vincent dePaul Society
in honor of Bruce Beimesch. All of the other Board members voted to
pool their funds to cover the cost of food and drinks at future Board
meetings.
Membership Card - At the suggestion of Greg Fite,
Bob Burkitt prepared samples of GCHA membership cards. After discussion
concerning the value of a membership card, Bob will prepare a similar
layout for GCHA luggage tags.
Web Space - Jim Krailler reports that the current
website in nearing its alloted storage capacity. Options are either
to purchase more space, for an additional annual fee, or to archive
information from past years. The Board chose to archive older information,
with a note in "Old News" to contact the webmaster for these
pages.
