Boys
& Girls Club Program Other? |
David Kent Board |
Boys & Girls Club Program - Ralph Weil is working
with five area Boys & Girls Club programs, mentoring 1-wall handball
for the members. David Kent proposed buying t-shirts for the children,
in order for Ralph to outfit the local teams for local competition
(100 shirts, five different colors.) The USHA's Development Fund currently
provides balls and eyeguards to the players. After discussion by the
Board, Ron Rosselot proposed allocating a minimum of $300 to support
the program; David Kent seconded the motion. The motion passed. (7-1)
Other -
CourtHouse Tournament - Board members proposed that
a tournament be held at Camargo Court House after the holiday season.
A number of configurations were proposed (mix beginning players with
more experienced players, an all-College event, one-day handicap,
etc.) and will be pursued at upcoming board meetings. GCHA membership
would be required as part of the entry fee. It was also suggested
that the January Board meeting be held at the CourtHouse.
Annual Social Event - The annual "Day after
ThanksGiving" gathering will be held at Tina's, Court and 4th
Street in downtown Cincinnati, on November 25th. The social event
(handball optional, but recommended, before the party) starts around
noon and continues until the last person leaves.
College Teams - Greg Fite suggested that the GCHA
should become more involved with local university teams. After some
coaxing, Greg agreed to spearhead this effort, and will report back
to the Board with regular updates.
Medical Report - George Lehocky showed off x-rays
and full-color photos of his hip resurfacing.
