Income / Expenditures / Current balance
- Treasurer David Kent, in abstentia, presented a financial
report showing the current balance of the GCHA checking account is
$ 12,076.
The following is from an email from David, received prior to the
meeting:
| Adjusted
bank balance is $12,076, having deducted all outstanding checks
($2,551) and money due Waycross for the QC ($1,811). I've
also attached the QC financial report. It's not quite complete
but the expenses are about 99% there. It shows a loss of
$864, assuming we collect the $550 in pledged sponsorships that
have not come in. In addition, Jim or Gary may have some
additional funds for me that I've not accounted for. Things
to note on this financial report: We owe Waycross an additional
$13/player that exceeds 60 (we had 84). Additional $312. We said
we'd pay for soda if requested by players, et. al. Additional
$90. I'm not sure if Jim Wohl owes us Lunch Sponsor money which
we split with UC. Jim Wohl does owe us $60 for three UC players
but it's figured into the numbers. We had $300 in prize money
donated back. |
The Board hopes that the Queen City tournament financial details
will be solidified, and completed, by the next Board meeting. Jack
Dean will invite Gary Reece to the next Board meeting to wrap up the
tournament.
Membership Report -
Jim Krailler reports that the current
2006 membership is at 78. A list of those who received a reminder
mailing, without responding, was distributed to Board members for
follow-up phone calls. Board members will follow up with a phone call
to those who have yet to respond.

GCHA Mission and Vision Statements - Another lengthy
discussion centered around the proposed Mission Statement, with little
progress.
Winter ShortLine - Deadline for the Winter
issue of the ShortLine has been delayed until January 15th, for publication
sometime in the first quarter.
Red's Tickets - George Lehocky has purchased 35
tickets for this spring's GCHA Reds outing. The Reds play the Chicago
White Sox on Friday, June 16th at 7:05 pm. Ticket price is $20.
Boys & Girls Club Program - The following
email was received from Ralph Weil on 12/30/05
Happy
New Year! In the new year we hope to bring a new program of
handball to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati.
There was a start in 2005.
From
my prospective, it would be better to introduce the game of
handball to the teenage group rather than the preteens. It's
a matter of attention span. After the teenagers learn the
game, they can help teach the younger players. Please call
me or any of the men who are going to be mentors for this
program. We are ready, willing, and able to help.
