August 2007 minutes accepted with a change.  Minutes should read that the GCHA informed Paul Baker that the GCHA would contribute $100.00 for beer for the Gary Reece going away party at his club.

Income/Expenses/Cash Balance:   No report.

Membership Report:
No new members reported.   101 paid members .  Minimum goal achieved!

Discussion of giving free GCHA member ship to matriculated students to get e-mail addresses.
View expressed that the students should give/do something for GCHA for free membership. Quid pro quo. New members would increase membership number.  View expressed that we work through the student leaders of the various college/university handball programs, e.g. Joe Frankenfield at Miami University, to get contact information of players. 

New Board Slate/Annual Meeting
Annual Meeting scheduled for Monday, October 15, 2007 at Paul Baker’s Club.  Current Board Officers will serve until 12/31/07.  Request attendees update “Blue Book” information for website.
All new or renewing members will receive a quality head band with GCHA.COM and the GCHA logo on it.

Tentative Slate of 2008 Officers are:

Treasurer – Ron Rosselot
Secretary – George Lehocky

Intentions of other at-large board members to be determined.

Current Board members should seek new people to serve on the Board or to replace themselves.
Each Board member should try to have a list of 3 people to contact.

UC Handball/ New Player Development:  No Report

3-Wall Court Maintenance and Township New Rules
Courts were cleaned by Bob Burkitt.  Bob will also fill holes.
All rules indicated by the Township in a previous letter have been addressed.
David sent letter to Twp. acknowledging the concerns that were voiced.

2008 Bob Caples 3 Wall Tournament

June 7-8, 2007.

Jack Dean suggested that the calls to invite people to play in the 2007 QC Tourney be done in November.  Discussion ensued and agreement reached on doing this and sending e-mails to potential tournament players also in November.

Greg Fite expressed a passionate concern about “promoting handball” and getting “new blood on board.”  Greg further indicated that the Ohio State and UC  programs were “not happening.” He suggested using GCHA members to connect with high schools and cited Elder being a potential target due to the number of Elder grads who are members of GCHA.  He also cited St. X high school as potential target due to X grads in the GCHA.  Greg agreed to put a plan of action together for GCHA to “promote the game”  for review by the Board. He wants to show/teach the game of handball.

Bob Burkitt indicated that the two One-Wall handball court was completed in Toledo.

Members present for the Board meeting expressed disappointment at the low number of attendees
at the meeting.
