The 2009 edition of the Caples tournament featured 47 players, 10 of whom boast one or more National Championships.  The Open Singles division was won by 17 year old phenom, Marco Lemus, who defeated 28 time national champ, Dave Dohman, to claim the prize money.  Later, Marco teamed up with Kevin Greco to defeat tournament director, Bob Bardeau and Phil Kirk in a rain shortened Open Doubles final.  The GCHA was pleased to have eight players from the Chicago area and hope all eight and even more will join us in 2010.  Tournament Director, Bob Bardeau, has already announced that Saturday’s lunch next year will include the best flavors of Graeter’s ice cream for dessert.  Click here for full results of this year’s Caples.
