We left Dublin early on Wednesday, headed off to Killarney.

The coach took us through Kildare, the center for
breeding race horses, and past a variety of rich farming areas and
bustling towns, past the Rock of Cashel, a huge outcrop with many
ecclesiastical ruins.

The lunch break was spent on the grounds of Blarney
Castle and the Blarney
Woollen Mills, to the delight of the shoppers in the group.

Just about everyone on the tour made it to the
top of the castle, but not everyone made the extra effort to kiss
the Blarney Stone.

| After lunch, we continued
our drive through Macroom and into the mountainous country of Kerry
and on to our hotel, the Killarney Towers, located in the heart of
the city. |

|
Evening festivities included dinner and a full night of pub-crawling.

Live music was featured in the "outside" hotel pub. When
the pub closed down, it was off to The Crypt, a disco which is also
part of the hotel, for a round of dancing.

| And, when the disco closed
down, there was still time for a lively game of spoons in the "inside"
hotel pub. |
