Farewell Appreciation Night For Jim Wohl

On Wednesday, July 26, Ron Rosselot and Ralph Weil hosted the handball fraternity at Paul Baker's Athletic Club @ Waycross to bid farewell and convey appreciation to Jim Wohl.

Jim was the coach of the UC handball team for the past few years, has provided food for many of our tournaments and other events, and has generally given a great deal of service to the Cincinnati handball community. Jim is leaving the area at the end of July for a new career, based in Columbia, Missouri.

We'll all miss Jim and wish him well in the future.

Home-Run Derby
At Quatman's

Continue one of the GCHA's oldest outdoor-handball traditions by joining us at Quatman's Cafe on Monday, July 10th, to watch Major League Baseball's Homerun Derby and to eat one of the best hamburgers made anywhere in the city. This tradition (excuse to go out) started long before the dream of 3-wall courts became a reality, when a 2 1/4 brickyard court, complete with sewer lid in the front left corner, was the best we could do.

Quatman's is located at the corner of Montgomery Road and Quatman Avenue in Norwood, across the street from the old seminary, and the festivities start around 7:30 pm. (You can click on the images above for fullsize photos.)

Thank You from Bob Hiance

The following email was sent to the GCHA.

I just thought I'd take a minute and thank everyone for their kind words of sympathy and their prayers at the passing of my father. It is hard to express my feelings of thanks and appreciation.

Thank you and know your words and prayers help in a very difficult time.

Bob Hiance
