The Good Guy Award 2009

Ron Rosselot Recognized as the First “Good Guy Award” recipient on July 13, 2009

In memory of Glenn Laque, who passed away on July 15, 2008, Ron Rosselot was recognized as the first recipient of the annual Glenn Laque Good Guy Award – to keep the Good Guy Spirit of Glenn Laque alive. The recognition award is sponsored by George and Barbara Lehocky, who were friends and admirers of Glenn.  About 15 handballers , fresh off of play at the 3 wall courts, met in the Gazebo on Monday, July 13, 2009 to attend the presentation.

Special guests included Glenn’s wife of 40+ years, Mrs. Carol Laque, and Mrs. Charlotte Caples, widow of Bob Caples, for whom the 3 wall courts at Veteran’s Park are named.

Ron Rosselot’s significant and worthy qualifications to be selected for the award were described to the group.  Both Carol Laque and Charlotte Caples spoke highly of Ron and endorsed his selection for the recognition.  After accepting the award, Ron spoke of his special relationship with both Glenn Laque and Bob Caples and how special this was for him to be recognized for the award.  Ron vowed to be part of the selection committee for 2010 to help select another worthy recipient.

George Lehocky closed the presentation with a reminder of the campaign to build the “Glenn Laque Challenge Court” adjacent to the current 3-wall courts with dedication planned for the Spring of 2010.
