Bill Spring Passes

 

Obituary:  William J. (Bill) Spring, age 61, passed away at his home in Lebanon, Ohio on Monday (July 20, 2009).  He was born on May 9, 1948 in Mansfield, Ohio to Larry and Mary Spring.  He was a 1966 graduate of Richmond High School where he was an All-State Center on the football team.  He attended both Indiana State University and Purdue University prior to enlisting in the US Army during the Viet Nam War.  He became a skilled salesman and businessman and enjoyed hobbies which included spending time with his grandchildren, playing handball, gardening, fishing and restoring old cars.  He is survived by his wife of 30 years – Mary Spring;  children – Scott Chandler, Cory Chandler, Mercedes Robb and Savannah Hoying;  sisters – Kathryn Neiswender and Judith Spring;  grandchildren – Jake, Brandon, Skyla and Ellen. 

Follow up:  Bill was buried with Military Honors on Saturday, July 25th in Richmond, IN.  Several handball buddies including Ralph Weil were in attendance.  Bill played handball several places around town for many years including the Powel Crosley and Countryside YMCA’s.  He was also Treasurer of the GCHA during the 1990’s.  He’ll be missed.
